I agree, 'designs' make the company sound cheesy and amateurish.
Reason why I only really trust companies with the word "creations" after their name. Sounds more professional and artsy.
Matter of fact, I just though of looking up if www.über-creations.com is available. Be right back

I have noticed that is often the case as well, actually.

of course they do.
just like any clothing shop with the word "fashion" or "fashions" is extremely unfashionable and any toy or product with "collectible" on it will never be worth anything

www.muccadesign.com/- shut up. we're talking about "designs" being stupid. not "design"iCanHasQBN

You could use it in a kitsch way .. and set up a hipster shop in a shabby, but cool area - and pretend you're living in circa 2003.
That's probably the only time it might have worked.

Is just like when people refer to something as
[insert successful name] killer
99% of the time it means that this "whatever killer" actually sucks

I personally can't stand it when the word "design" is pluralized. It reminds me of a little kid bringing home an art project saying, "Mommy, mommy, check out my designs." Just sayin'

Someone that I went to school with tried to start a design business called "Dazine"
I dunno how that turned out, but their work wasn't too good to begin with.
