I think you can make at least 90-120 in a bigger city. Just need that few big brand names to peak you over.

i know average designers doing boring work for 100k+ at huge agencies, and very talented designers doing great work for less than half that at small studios.
the salary you get offered is often simply what the company can afford to pay, not necessarily what you deserve to get paid.
sometimes it's a good match, sometimes not. keep looking until you find it.

LOLGo to a big city, where you will star around 50k. work a few years for a reputable company, work your way up.

That's kind of sad. I started right out of college in a junior position working for 10k more than you are earning 7 years into your career. In Detroit no less. I think it's time you relocated - either to a new area or to a new job.

You definitely have the skillset to be earning much more than that. Your current employers have been getting you at a fucking steal my friend. I would also consult designsalaries.org and some of the other designer-salary resources.
