Contribute CS5 layout issues

Whenever I use Contribute CS5 to edit a website I'm programming, multiple elements on the page jump down about 50 pixels. Has anyone experienced this issue? I've tried everything I can think of!
And yes, I know Contribute isn't the best program...but the client is insisting on it.

Anyone?

Is it adding unnecessary css styles? Maybe it's adding extra non-breaking space ( ) tags. Check the source.

Yep, it sure is. How do I get rid of those?

Anyone?

I'd talk to the client and be clear that you're battling w/this one silly issue right now... a sign of things to come if you keep using it... and then recommend the appropriate solution.

I'm not using a WYSIWYG. I'm hand coding everything, and then connecting it to Contribute as I finish pages. Pure HTML, CSS and some PHP. Lay off. Contribute is mainly for the client to enter in their updated content and make edits.
And yes, I come to this forum for assistance because quite a few people here work in the programming field. Hence they might know what I'm talking about and have found a solution.
I wish I could drop Contribute, but it's not an option in this case.

Anyone else? It's extremely important I figure out how to solve this.

Stupidest program ever. Adobe utterly fails.

Never used it, but to contribute (pun!), maybe there is some sort of option for the client's input area to disable the auto-adding of extra markup. Maybe there is an html mode instead of a wysiwyg mode and you have to give them some basic formatting instructions? Maybe they are pasting the content from a word doc and it has all sorts of extra formatting in it that is causing this issue? Tell them to convert it to plain text first? That's all I got!
- Nope. There's nothing. I haven't even handed it over to them. This is happening after I upload hand-coded HTML files and try to edit them.besler

Ok, are you 100% sure these are not some extra css styles being loaded in that is affecting elements consistently by 50px?
- What I mean is, are you 100% sure it's markup and not cssacrossthesea
- Yes, I'm sure. It's happening to another client that I'm doing a site for, and they use all tables to get around it.besler

Another idea, maybe there's some sort of "ignore whitespace" option that you need to enforce somehow?
- Nope. It's literally adding in empty <p>&nsbp;</p> tags. I guess it's not 50 px, maybe more like 20.besler
- Where is it adding those <p>'s? What's the patternacrossthesea
- besler0
The pattern seems to be that in any div where there's an image, it's adding that extra spacing. I'm using valid HTML (with the exception of a random ul error and 2 alt tags, which wouldn't effect this), so I can't figure out the problem. There are multiple reports of this issue online as well, with no solution. Doesn't matter if it's CS4 or CS5.
- heh, just saw your post on the adobe forumsacrossthesea
- maybe your CSS reset needs some tweaking.bulletfactory

Yeah I can't think of anything offhand that accounts for Contribute adding additional markup. I guess try and remove any extra spaces in your code? Not sure how it is interpreting anything. Bummer.

I just heard back from the client in question after I explained the issue to them. We've decided to start investigating something else, but they want the ease of use that Contribute has. Any suggestions?
Still though, I will have one other client with no way around Contribute, so if anyone figures out anything, PLEASE let me know!

Anything funky going on in that forms.css? Maybe some kind of :after hijinks

Your header include is before the body?

what's the address of this site?
- besler0
Test site is http://grdominicans.mindutopia.c…
- Note that I've hacked it so that the current pages up there won't change spacing, but it will impact any new pages.besler
