Can a company in the US say shit if you are in Australia?
I don't think so. Do they know you're in Australia?
Just reply and ask them if they are trademarked there. just play with them for being arses.

trademarks are a game of "risks vs rewards." As you grow in power and influence, more of your company's assets are exposed to legal trouble. Thus, it deems wiser to take the appropriate protection.
But the key term is appropriate.
Spending $5,000 to secure an international mark that has shown little to no influence within its industry is not appropriate.

In some countries, nothing works. In a lot of countries, there's really not much to be gained by having a trademark.

I got served a take down notice for some personal brand work on my site which in a complete coincidence has been registered in the US by this crappy little design shop since before I was born. So much for original creative thought lol.
I'm in Australia however..
