been using macs for 20 years, no 'protection' and no problems -- i think the protection is more likely to cause problems

iAntiVirus catches the main trojans if I remember rightly and its free
- It's a bit of a pig, though.Continuity
- only run it when you think something you download might be infected. Trojans and allPIZZA

the best protection is not to be an idiot. i run win7 with just the SP updates, and occasionally do a check up and check my hijack logs and comes out clean everytime. just gotta think about what you do
- This thread is titled Mac Protection, not Windows 7 for idiotsmonospaced
- the idea is if win is super vulnerable and a little intelligence keeps ya viral free, that same thing should work on a mac********
- a mac. right?********

My office Mac has some Symantec AV on it and it doesn't seem to get int he way. Hell, I don't even know if it's running or not. You could look at ClamAV, it's free but not great, I hear.

I am super paranoid, (ATM card info stolen once) and I begged the mac guy to sell me any anti-spyware, he ended up convincing me that Disk Warrior would have been a better investment, if any, just to keep your hard drive running smooth.
Anyway, the card stolen, I never used it online, it was probably stolen at some convenience store, but I got scared in general.- you can call and cancel it and take care of any purchases that you didn't authorize, it's really simplemonospaced
- cash machines in convenience stores are a massive gamblePIZZA
