I use Gmail but always have the urge to use mail.app. I like the idea of having the mail as well as cloud. Any mail app users? Or Thunderbird?

would rather work with a native app I think. Im not that into new apps because I'd probably like them and then they'd stop supporting them.

I use Thunderbird, and I'm perfectly happy with it; use it with my normal POP account.
I tend to use webmail services (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc) for site registrations, where I don't want my POP account spammed.

not a fan of apples mail because of all of the space it eats up, its really quite ridiculous. also the reason i hate iphoto.

I use the Apple mail.app. It works great, and I couldn't imagine being happier with a program. Does what it's supposed to without any fucking around; looks pretty good, and is easy to set up and work with.
For my money, I don't really understand why everyone wants to turn their email over to a monolithic company like Google. It seems like it's only a matter of time before they're using it toward some nefarious end, if they aren't already. Or someone (like the Chinese government!) hacks their system, and steals everyone's shit.

so with gmail you gave conversations, apple you have threads. In gmail I have a conversation containing 60 emails. In mail app it shows as 60 emails, how does that work?
