any good recommendations?
something romantic, birthday dinner etc etc, tried the river cafe but fully booked. something similar, nice view kinda special and good food of course...
i know there are other threads but forgive me, im trying to book in a rush...

I'm always a fan of Blue Hill.
Took my girl to WD-50 the other week for her birthday. Broke the bank, but it was pretty damn good. Not much in terms of romance though.

rivercafe is expensive, id prefer not to break the bank but it seemed good location

not many places are going to have the "view" you mentioned aside from River Cafe. you could try to plan a picnic down in Brooklyn Bridge Park for the same view and possible romantic qualities it would have. or even Central Park in a remote part.

Locanda Verde in Tribeca is very good; one of Deniro's.
Also, I went to Duane Park over the weekend, food pretty good and its got burlesque, too.

Locanda Verde is very nice. Balthazar is a classic as well as Schiller's and Pastis.

the grocery in brooklyn is really nice. and Lucatti in Carol Gardens is the second best pizza in america according to GQ. I think is is my fav I ever had by far.

got back early this morning drunk with a chance of jetlag...
nyc great place, obviously, and thought id give my 2 cents on what i could recommend...
thanks digdre, delicatessen was oorsome, i can def recommend the cheeseburger springrolls, the deep fried half chicken n cornbread and wash it all down with cucumber martinis...
westville in west village does a great burger, cheap n cheerful, cool atmosphere...(didnt try the one in east v)
sweetwater in brooklyn(williamsburg) is very very cool, great burger, good pale ale house beer, pretty cheap...
there is a bar on bedford ave, cant remember the name or exactly where it is, but its good. its dark and has a good selection on the ol jukebox. pretty vague but ...
bar/cafe on corner of berry and N9 in williamsburg good as well, just called 'bar' i think
benny's burritos on greenwich ave and ermm, maybe 14th? has good food and vibe and 3$ margaritas!
im fallin asleep as i type so will update with more later on, i stayed away from galleries this time ( well big ones) , will hit them next time but this thread was originally aboot food so, well there ya go...
