Bike rack for hatchback..

I have a Civic SI 2003 hatch.. been to two bike shops today and both of them say they have absolutely nothing in the way of racks for me, except for roof mounts - which I really don't want to plunk down change for. The problem is the tiny little spoiler that sits above the hatch window.
Have any suggestions? Some sort of modded rack that could work?

you want something like this:
The bike bars and the hoops that touch your car move independently of each other, and lock in place with those yellow camming levers on the sides. Yyou can adjust around most spoilers and such with this format.
The one pictured above is made by 'Rhode Gear'. I've now got a new one that's almost identical made by Sportrack, so I presume they're a rebadged generic rack.

they have a model finder...it will tell you exactly what you need.

they have a model selector,

Unfortunately Saris isn't an option. The model selector is what I used, and they don't support 2003 Civics.

Thanks - I'll probably have to call them up and ask specifically - the couple of people I've talked to at shops told me these options don't specifically work since because of the car's stupid spoiler at the top.

looks like the solo might fit underneath your spoiler, but it only carries one bike.

I know roof racks are way more but they are totally worth it.
I think they are more stable and versatile ( you can hook snowboard racks or get a box for extra gear) and have a sleeker profile.
Those hatch racks can be a little difficult to attach and adjust each and every-time you want to use them and when you're not using it it takes up space in your apt or garage.
Plus once you put that rack on you can get into the hatch from the rear so getting your extra gear can be a pain.
Get a roof rack you'll be happier.

kult - i have a 2002 subaru wrx sportwagon with the same sort of above-hatch spoiler. i have some generic "hollywood" rack and i can make it work by threading the top straps underneath the spoiler - i don't know if your car works the same way, but i've moved cross country in this way with no ill effects.

+1 on Saris.
I don't believe it won't fit. I have one on a hatchback... the straps would hook underneath the spoiler.
