"Obamas Katrina's have come twice already, both response were complete failures; Haiti, and the Missouri Tornado...both places are still a mess. The main stream media has stopped reporting on Haiti, to protect Obama, and the folks in Missouri arent being covered anymore either...and they are Americans! If Obama does get threatened by the results of the oil rig explosion and the resulting oil slick headed toward the coast, the main stream media will protect their little darlings incompetence in these matters sufficiently as they have to date. Sorry for posting FACTS people, I know FACTS tend to get in the way of your LEFTIST ideology. Don't worry the American people are going to change that completely...you wait and see...oh look at your ratings...the American people are already responding to the main stream medias alternate reality. Bye bye, you have all become utterly useless, and hence you will cease to exist as a viable money making operation."
Utterly hilarious.

The “tough on grease” dish detergent, commonly found at kitchen sinks across America, is used by animal rescue and rehabilitation teams to help gently remove oil from feathers, fur, and skin of oil-soaked critters. Proctor & Gamble, which owns Dawn, has donated thousands of bottles to wildlife conservation programs over the past 30 years, cleansing more than 75,000 animals.

Well, the bottom line is that as long as we are dependent on it, we need oil. Anyone watch the documentary Collapse? I didn't agree with every last thing in there but it did an excellent job showing how quickly society would grind to a halt without fossil fuels.
We are paying the price everyday we don't spent more time developing alternatives, but that doesn't mean the alternatives are there yet either.

there ARE alternatives. but the fucking oil companies buy the patents on EVERYTHING so that nothing ever develops. Do you ever wonder whatever happened to the Electric car???

To stop the leak in the Gulf...
Step 1. Get a submersible vehicle, like the ones that go to the Titanic, equipped with a heavy duty saw. Go down 5000 feet to the well-head.
Step 2. Locate a point on the pipe two feet above the well-head, and cut the pipe. Make a clean, level cut.
Step 3. Take a heavy piece of cone shaped metal, like a plumb-bob, and attach it to a 10 feet piece of heavy pipe. The wide end of the plumb-bob should have a diameter at least twice that of the leaking oil pipe. This all should be very heavy. On the other end of the pipe is a hook, to which a cable will be attached. Lower the whole thing down to the leaking oil pipe that you've just cut.
Step 4. With the submersible guiding the way, drop the plumb-bob apparatus onto the leaking pipe. The plumb-bob will wedge itself into the pipe, plugging the leak. Secure the plumb-bob to the well head support structure."

Political debate with "morans" scares the living daylights out of me. I say let's go back to aristocracy and let the peons whimper.
Or fix education ffs
