In terms of visual design, what are some exercises you guys go through with clients to hone down your reviews (e.g., questionaires, things you ask them to bring with them to the review, ask them their favorite artist/color/seasame street episode etc).
I'm designing a very information heavy website for a big corporate client and I want to make them feel involved in the visual design process. Any tips, suggestions, or things you have done that went over well and/or helped you gain insight?

Interesting.... this may work or may bite you....
For most clients, the designer is up against the Previsualization Paradox.... Clients don't know how to express what they're trying to visualize until they see something you've made that's 90% done, but they express a total change of purpose now that they've found their ability to express what should have been expressed in the beginning....
Clients hire us because we're able to move from concept to visual, but clients often go straight for commenting on matters of taste in the visual, often detaching the visual from the concept that it is supposed to be executing...
