The music Nike uses for this new commercial sounds exactly like Radioheads National Anthem.
I'm sure Thom wouldn't give them permission to use any of his music. Do you think it's close enough for them to take action against Nike?

I think that was the same defense Vanilla Ice used when Queen tried to sue him for using the beat for Under Pressure
- you mean bowie?scarabin
- "Under Pressure" is a 1981 song recorded by Queen and David Bowie. It marked Bowie's first released collaboration with another recording artist as a performer, and is featured on Queen's 1982 album Hot Space.fooler2

That was quite a bit closer than this though. They dont sound all that similar to me. You're probably one of those crazy radiohead fans that thinks everyone rips them off, when they've done enough ripping of their own as well.
- I'm not crazy but I'm a fan of both RH and Nike (some of there styles not business practices)fooler2

there's musicians out there who specialize in making songs that sound exactly like popular songs that someone wants to be put in an ad. happens constantly, they just make something similar rather than paying for the original.

have produced music for tvc's a few times - all the CD/client ever want is something that sounds the same as the temp track.

Yeah they can't do anything about it. The music copyright laws are too vague.

Not at all close enough for a lawsuit.
