  Probably really simple, but I'm making a 720 x 576 movie, but in the composition panel it looks 4:3. Render it and its widescreen

  How do I make the stage the actual size of the render?

  sounds like you're working with anamorphic 16:9. there is a button under your view called pixel ratio correction or square pixels or something like that.
