Is there a good example of a CSS liquid layout that uses a combination of fixed and liquid widths?
I'd like to use fixed width for the margins and gutters, but liquid for everything else, trying to brainstorm the best method for that.

- How is this liquid? Nothing resizes with a window resize.duckofrubber

^ Good link, but I wonder if there's a way to do it without making the margins actual divs?

Here ya go.

That's kinda what I was talking about. So you have a container, a non-floating div inside it w/ margin. Then for each column, same thing basically. I wonder if there's a cleaner way to accomplish it?

In CSS3 you can use column-count and column-gap directly on your paragraphs but for now each column has to be enclosed in a div.
Just add that fixed margin to whatever you've got inside the column div and you can lose the inside div.

That's pretty cool zr, but I'm guessing for now the one I posted is the current approach if you want to set a margin on a column as a whole.
What's this about min-width?

Fixed margine should definetly help, says my web programmer/creative guru.
