Looking back, this was actually a good movie for 2009 despite the unoriginal story plot overall. But definitely my favorite Avatar because the stupid children weren't in it yet and it felt more mature.
This was my favorite scene with the Thanator chase:

The filmmaker is Iranian and spent a few years locked up, so this being fawned over at festivals was somewhat inevitable.
An often-funny road movie with a cast of misfits. Anything familiar about that is flipped by the Iranian setting. It's got a genuine open ending that makes you question a lot of what you've seen, rather than just bait a sequel. Worth your time.

Amazing. Fucking stunning. I can't fault it. As performance films go, it's up there with Woodstock.
The editing, restoration, sound and colour is magnificent. You get this feeling that your right there watching with all the overwhelmed, screaming, fawning wildness of the crowd.
You hear no-one talking but Elvis throughout, it feels intimate and exclusive. The performances are spectacular. Please go and see it in the cinema, in IMax if you can.The King, is absolutely right.
