i'm on snow leopard. using suitcase...
basically because of my helvetica neue system font (which you can't delete as it just restores itself) - i can't use my own version of helvetica neue as it conflicts... the cuts are slightly different and i have to use my version.anyone had this problem and know how to resolve it?
cheers...

I always get the same thing but just turn it on anyway and ignore the conflict it seems to work fine.

cant seem to do that, just deactivates my helvetica neue cut of '45 light' - even if i ignore conflicts.

this issue started in Leopard, at the time, the solution was just use another Helvetica... don't know someone found found a new solution

I've heard you can replace the system cut with your own, you just have to name it the same as the system files.

cheers guys, that has worked... albeit has left any apps (like dashboard calendar) or any websites that use HelvNeue as outlines... but that's minor... thankyou.
- indian_pole did you follow exactly what was said on the site new_cpm listed?
TheeOtherJuan - did both that and also just replaced with an empty folder of the same nameindian_pole
- they both have the same end resultindian_pole

balls! - this has caused an issue... once i restarted my mac when i try and activate fonts it doesnt work and says 'OS activation Error' so i've had to put the system fonts back to how they were... so basically it only works as a temporary measure... what a pain in dee ass!

a 'controlled drop' may be needed

I use font explorer and it works fine. I have both copies running side by side.

Having said that, one is Linotype the other is the system font.
