I agree with the demolishing the miles upon miles of wasteland around Detroit. I'm on the fence about the whole urban farming thing.
I just can't imagine the land around here being sustainable for agriculture. I live in a pretty rural part of MI(st. clair county) where agriculture is big business and most of the farmer-types out there think it's a big joke.

Probably is a joke. I'm guessing the urban farming plan thing is a way to capture subsidies etc. I like the line of thinking of thinking though...especially the building re-use part.

^ there are always new ideas like this for Detroit. but none of it will happen, it makes too much sense. too much unpaid taxes on overgrown taxes no one wants to bother with.
let's preserve the city as a modern ruin/industrial park.
