I'm working on a project that requires 2 or more companies logos that are co-sponsoring an event to share real estate. Anyone have examples of how logos can be separated? Vertical bar? an X?
...and I did try google first but it doesn't show good design examples like you all would have.
Thanks!

ah.. the classic 'lockup'

not sure which is more alarming;
- you can't find a piece of junk mail or a flyer with sponsor logos
- you can't design something without looking for samples

So whats the point of this site then? Is it not for inspiration and ideas?? Is it here to give you place to go where you can talk shit to people cause you're too scared to do it in person? I wasn't looking to rip anyone off. I'm looking for inspiration just like you all do....except when you're on here making dumb jokes and waisting your time.
Thanks for all the help qbners.

ignore the randomness....
Is this for a co-sponsored event? Often that's a challenge, as one logo may be more vertical or horizontal than the other(s) usually I just try to put them next to each other and keep tweeking sizes until they look harmonious....
Logos are generally designed to stand out, not harmonize....

Look at the bottom of the page? Krop logo next to Media Temple logo?

Exactly. Co-sponsored event. And yeah, the different logos are making it tough.... but finding some cool ideas for separators and different ways to lock them up.
Thanks for the constructive feedback, vaxorcist!

Yeah I mean just placing the logos side by side is cool but trying to explore different ways of separating them.
- Do they have to be in color or can they be monochromatic? That helps level things out as well.ETM

i'm not sorry for sarcasm - you really want people to find you examples of how to display 2 logos beside each other?

I think the lack of constructive feedback is due to the fact that people see this as a pretty pedestrian exercise which shouldn't require "inspiration."
Unless you're not actually a designer, in which case ignore what I just said.

@business_mouse
If you provided more detail, you may have gotten better responses. You say '2 or more logos'. Well what's 'more'? Balancing 2 sponsors is a different task than balancing 5. What's the design context? You say nothing of the medium - print, web, both? You also have no actual sample of your attempts to show us to get specific feedback. Seeing some specific design work would enable us to see the situation and maybe provide some unique feedback. We would hope you at least attempted some ideas before coming here for a solution.
Its a 'get what you give' scenario.

although i will say that your suggested "x" would be a bad idea as it would most likely be interpreted as "versus".
just visually balance and center them. vertical bars are gonna look odd unless there's 3 or more logos.

- the infamous "my logo has to be bigger and on top of your logo" can be funny sometimes too......vaxorcist

- these things are a political nightmare. i spent many days battling over sizing, etc.dirtydesign
- does size matter though....isnt it what you do with the logo...Ironmonkey
