I know nothing of SAT scores, but I need to validate them in a form. Perhaps someone in the US can help me (don't even know if we use it in the UK...?).
I know they are numbers, but many separate SAT scores can 1 person have? Is it as many as the number of subjects they studied?
Also, do they have a total? Do you ever add them up to give an overall figure?

..So, if you ask someone for their SAT score - do you expect to get 1 figure back?
- Depends on who you're asking, and where they're from, and when they took the test.monospaced

It was usually a totaled score. 2 sections (verbal and math, max 800 points each) totaling up to 1600. I believe they recently changed it to 3 sections (as stated in the wikipedia entry above). And when asked, I'd usually give my total score but I remember at times, having to break them down when applying to grad school or for a job.

UK SATs?
It's 1 to 5 for English, Maths and Science but they are dropping science soon.
Not sure if that's what you meant.

To clarify if you ask for SATs result you get a level 4 for Maths, Level 5 for English and level 4 for science. There are written and oral versions for English and Maths (I think?) so you might get level 3 and 5 for English with an overall score of level 4.
Again I do think there maybe an overall score system but it's not as relevant as the individual scores.
1 is something like unsatisfactory and 5 is excellent btw

So the UK system looks different. The interesting thing is that I've got 'scores' from people all over the world - New Zealand, Australia. All seem to vary.
I've also got high numbers for UK people (like 1140) which makes 1-5 look wrong.
- johnnnnyh0
That may be score but not results. I'm only going by the SATs reports I've seen. They will vary country to country and perhaps even at different age ranges. You start doing SATs at primary which is the level 1 to 5 result which you take through to your secondary education. I don't know what 1140 would represent though.
- 1140 would represent an SAT score, OF COURSE. 1-5, who fucking knows?monospaced

Ok.. well thanks. Shame I can't just have a fuzzy input box but I need these to use these as accurate filters and such.

more - similar but with the addition of level 6.
No wonder the teachers go mad it's not very clear at all.

monospaced understands it and it's driven to him to a colorful teaching a approach.
"Was that so fucking hard?"
If only more teachers could be so thorough.
- Well, was it? Hahaha. Seriously though, Googling is a great resource, especially for this.monospaced
- By the way, I am a thorough teacher and a good one at that.monospaced
- If Google had answered my questions I wouldn't have posted.moth
