started to develop a site into html5 and jquery. fed the rough database into it so far. no flash unless you're on an unsupported browser.

ignore the current crappy skin.apart from my ideas of bringing the features of the old site into the new site, any new ideas?

can we has the codez,
or should I just steal them and reskin it?suggestions, maybe make the player smaller in length and maybe make it fixed on the right.
nice one ephix

steal it for sure. in fact i'll help you. i've used jPlayer and modified it quite a bit. google it. or just view source. it's all there in it's current ugly glory.
as for making the player smaller in length, you mean width or the playlist length? the playlist automatically grows when you get the last one. currently almost 800.

Pretty cool site bro.
It looks like you are using JS to reposition the player but why bother? Couldn't you just give it a position absolute or fixed at the top or bottom of the page?
See these for instance:
http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/
http://www.thecloudplayer.com/Also, I hate to nitpic (and I can tell this is probably going to be an increasingly futile plea), but there isn't really any HTML 5 in this is there? It's just a Javascript controls wrapper over a Flash audio player. HTML5 would involve using the <AUDIO> tag.
- your first point, definitely something i should look into. last point, if you think it's flash, you're running an old browser.ephix
- if you don't think so, delete your flash plugin.ephix
- oh and change browsers :Pephix
- Ah...wait I'm still confused though. How come I can see an AUDIO tag in the code on this page http://www.happyworm… but not yours?ukit
- but not on yours? That's why I assumed it was falling back on the Flash playerukit
- that's the single player configurationephix
- Same here though: http://www.happyworm…ukit
- Nevermind, I missed the fact that you moved the location of the jquery_jplayer div. In theirs it's right above the player controls.ukit
- So...will this play on the iPad??;)ukit
- Frames???utopian

this is good shit.
Im going to look at this later when im on the clock!

ukit, it plays on iPhone OS. except apple have crippled the audio and video in html5. you need to tap each track for it to play rather than auto play next track. hopefully they change that.

wow, i really like that birds of paradise song.

I'd rather have just the playlist scroll instead of the entire window.
Other than that, pretty nice.

are you going to light box the lyrics ? looks good , maybe a hide show player option
- ephix0
BattleAxe. that's exactly what I was thinking of doing, since the old site had a popup window, which was very annoying.
flashbender: refresh it now - is that what you mean?

Neat. Your DOCTYPE isn't HTML5 though.

had a look - I meant scrolling just the playlist div instead of the whole window. What I find a little off-putting is when the playlist scrolls underneath the player - it just feels weird.
Granted part of that is because of the transparency of the player skin, but still - I'm not a fan of it
