I've just had the most torturous 2 months of my career working on some of the marketing campaign for this - the program looks great but I'm gonna wait for the box set to give me time to separate the program from the fuck wits who are broadcasting it here in the UK.
- Which fuckwits are they?
Why not torrent?detritus - I didn't get my hands on a copy - we were just shown the first few episodes in the inhouse viewing theater.Wolfboy
- and they are Sky TVWolfboy
- heh, I didn't mean 'add to', just 'borrow from' torrent! Ah, Sky. Of course, a proven big budget attraction.detritus

This is why I love the internet - saw this thread this morning, scratched my head stupidly, went over to a favoured torrent site, saw a hi-def link, clicked it and within half an hour was watching Band of Brothers II, "How the Jews saved Asia".
Great series. Can't wait for more.
- Did they save it so they could buy the new Acura?Mimio

"I said this earlier....
Tom Hanks is nothing but a hypocrite and a liar.
His liberal and vocal slant is nothing but a cover to deflect the PC spewing of his liberal pals since he had to use Un-PC verbiage in his latest project. This way he blames the WWII vets for racism so that they do not throw the anal drippings at him or his other liberal pal Spielberg.
It is that simple.
A VERY BIG LIE TO MAKE A BUCK AND TO KEEP THE LIBERALS OFF THEIR ASSES!
I hope all the vets everywhere now turn on this asshole!"

Not enough real wars going on around the world, I guess I will settle for an HBO drama.

The ad I saw on TV made it look like a very detailed video game.

Stopped watching after episode 2. Worst show ive seen in years. Id rather watch the hills honestly.

Really enjoyed the first episode - but I personally really liked the complete and detailed progression that Band of Brothers took in its coverage. Personally, I loved those initial episodes, and thought the setup was absolutely perfect before the shit hit the fan.

@JazX Yas! Bye bye, Danielle Steel. I thought the last episode was second to none, that bunker scene was epic. As much as I enjoyed the battle scenes during the first few eps, it seemed like they were always covered up under a blanket of darkness. Good new characters as well, nice to see some real camaraderie and laughs - "I shit maself!" It seems like a different production all together now.

^detritus. I don't think this has even been released as of yet. Only one episode was on HBO live. It was produced specifically for HBO, I believe, it's going to take up until the last released episode, which is at least 9 weeks away dude.

there is a problem with the narrative in the series. and it's made obvious with the tom hanks voice over at the start. he gives out historical facts and disappears completely. annoying, but i understand why it's there. because if it wasn't you'd be completely lost of what is going on (the big picture). in band of brothers you didn't NEED that because the story of each character and the sense of time was very well drawn out.
I like the series, but there are some flaws. i dont feel anything for the characters like i did for Band of Brothers.

Saw this last night. I thought it was a bit dull. Not giving up on it yet though.

I only saw the first episode (no cable) but would love to know when it's going to be out on DVD.

They didn't make it too sappy, when they all split up in the end, and the real life guys are what it's all about anyway and they show them and did a pretty good job imitating them. There's a building in my old neighborhood, the John Basilone Club building, no longer in use by the Italianos, but you can see the engraved cement block. He didn't look like the guy, but not bad acting.... http://www.hbo.com/the-pacific/c…

It's exactly like Band Of Brothers (which is beyond awesome btw) and even has some of the same actors and same title treatments. The first episode was good but I honestly expected more, maybe it's because I just wanted more. Can't wait for the second though.
If you liked Saving Private Ryan, you'll probably like this show. Tom Hanks even does VO (maybe even is a part of the production???)
- are you serious? toms hanks was an executive producer for band of brothers and the pacificrefunktion
- Ahh cool. Didn't know that.fyoucher1
