TOTAL RIP.
Shame on the CD. Fuck advertising anyways.

Pleix is fairly old right? Still think it's stronger then the rip off.
- how can a rip be stronger than the original? unpossibleeieio

its a rip

i'm glad most of us acknowledge its a rip but I still think its sort of cool and funny they based a dog food ad on that video

Actually this was posted a few months ago...and people gave me shit for saying it was a rip. It's still not 100% clear to me that they didn't have Pleix involved in some way, but if not, pretty shady effort.

I could see the TBWA Creative meeting going like this:
"We need an ad, pronto. Why don't we do some slow-mo shots of dogs tracking, and then jumping/catching the kibble in their mouths? It'll be all overly dramatic and funny, and epic looking!"This is SO not a rip. Are agencies supposed to see and memorize every ad and music video ever created? As someone said earlier, this idea isn't rocket science. It's pretty basic. Stealing the background color? You mean gray? and white? Please. That's what's used in tons of ads.
It sounds like you have a stick up your ass for some reason.

Credit to ukit for spotting this rip first. I'm late to the game.

I didn't spot it, someone else did. Can't find the original thread though.

Even though that one erroneously calls it a "Purina" ad when it's actually a Pedigree ad TBWA shat out.

TBWA is catching a lot of shit over at AgencySpy in the comments section:

I forgot that TBWA / Chiat was responsible for ripping the Postal Service "Such Great Heights" video

Oh yeah, and this lovely rip of Stefan Sagmeister's typographic experiements, again courtesy TBWA / Chiat, for a fuckin Absolut ad!
Absolut ad:
Sagmeister:
- I'd assumed that Sagmeister had been involved with this when i saw it.Ranger

Man these fuckers don't stop. Another rip from TBWA.
The original, from a Japanese band called Sour:
A rip by TBWA, for a fuckin Pepsi commercial, and scored with a shitty black eyed peas song:

Like i said, the pochers of creative ideas. They steal the ideas of niche creative people and translate them to ads for the big dogs (and make a shit load of money of it). They probably still think they are being really creative...

*sends Kiggen CV as his to TBWA

Well I for one am surprised, I look to the the advertising industry whenever I need to calibrate my moral compass.

This is a quote from AgencySpy:
"A little inside scoop about the inner workings of TBWA Chiat/LA. Rob Schwartz is scared to approve anything original so you have a much better chance to sell an ad if you go down to his office with an ad/music video/You Tube clip or short film of any already existing idea. This is why so many ads from TBWA/Chiat are ripoffs of other ideas. Sooner or later, the agency is going to have their asses sued off. At the very least, other agencies need to blacklist and never hire creatives and CDs who steal other people's idea"

Telefonica has being doing the same with their TV spots on Spain, copying popular/viral Youtube videos and turning them into spots for their products, I'll leave you some of them without the original references because I'm sure you all have seen them:
