Anyone follow this cat?
The above show which I had tickets for with my little bro was cancelled and moved to tomorrow night here in Toronto.
He's apparently cancelled a date on friday and just played a date where an impostor was in his place allegedly....
Though, feelings on this type of unpredictable act/spectacle occurring? I got to tell you I haven't been this anxious for a show in some time based on quality of his music and the hype that surrounds each move he makes...

Might want to check this out if you're in London

Saw him with El-P in 2004. And that was a dope show.
I'm too cheap for the REMG double bill.

Won't find the Villain in the street inside no monkey suit
Or either at the bar in no gorilly bra
Nor raceway park scoring on no silly car
Ask the stranger he knows who you really are
Behind the mask face stay dark, no boring willy star
Gleaming, dreaming, screaming- he'll be off the heezy soon
Cunning live rats drive at your steaming greasy spoon
In participating places tip your waitress'
A sure fire way to wire, trip the matrices
Skip ya laces, all black tennis miniature
Ball stack, gall tall pack, Guinness minister
Tussle the hustle, cut your dank with dirt
Won't be in the club in a muscle tank shirt
You could find 'em in the pub with the grub stain
Chuggin on a small tub of pain to his bugged brain
Sane, some say he plum crazy
Amazed at how he still get paid but dumb lazy
That's for him to know and for you to guess
Won't be caught in a suit vest at no computer desk
A suede front, maybe may stunt khaki dig
Not in no braids or no lace-front yaki wig- "A sure fire way to wire, trip the matrices"? C'mon; who can touch that lyrical brilliance?!ideaist

DOOM is NOTORIOUS for doing that shit. I would not be surprised if all you got was a body double for your tickets.

"REMG Entertainment takes the integrity of our concerts and the trust placed in our company by our loyal patron base very seriously. As such we feel it necessary to address the ongoing rumours and concerns about the true identity of the performer on stage during recent Doom performances. We are taking every precaution necessary to ensure that the performer on stage is in fact DOOM (Daniel Dumile). The artist has agreed to produce proper identification to us prior to performing to confirm his identity. We will not allow a substitute to perform in his place."

I love DOOM I do.
BUT
I question if he has any real talent. His best albums were on the back of Madlib beats (which are even better than Dillas) and that was some 4-5 years ago. Born Like This was a pretty boring album in comparison and there have been many stories of DOOM looking for the quick buck.
I'm pretty over him.

Doom is great, The mouse and the Mask is pretty damn classic, but Vast Aire takes the crown for me.

He was "performing" over a vocal track at Pitchfork this summer. What a fake.

I read in some of the comments on that youtube page above, that this guy chooses not to turn up (and sends an imposter), to 'steal from his fans' - because people copy his music for free.
He sounds like a complete prick.
- Well, doesn't he have a point?dMullins
- The point is, if fans have paid money to see him play - they deserve to get to see him play.lukus_W
- Assuming that those same fans have 'stolen' music, is just paranoid and / or an excuse to not bother.lukus_W
- You could be right, although I do his point. But I guess you can't punish everyone for a few peoples' mistakes.dMullins
