Hi you all! This is my first post.
I am constantly working on my portfolio. Here it is right now.
One thing I am working on is having my work reshot (better photos), and next I will work on a non-krop site.
What do you guys think of showing work here? On Krop? Is it better to have my own site? I am mostly a print designer/art director and don't really "do" web.
I would love any feedback. Always working on the portfolio!!
Thanks!

Domain names are like $12. You look like a cheapskate without one.

Great point. I don't know how to program a site, and I can just hire someone to...
Thanks.
- You can have your domain just forward to the Krop portfolio.ETM
- yeah purchase a domain name like ladylike.com, and you can route that to your krop profile within krop. i think its called domain mappingeieio

I once got a job by merely having a website.

Work is very nice! One piece i noticed 'rock occo' is pretty pixellatted (not sure if intentional or not - looks out of place). For the most part I think you have a nice body of work and the way you're showing it is fine. However, I do feel that there is too much similar work... perhaps pick the pieces you feel the most strongly about from your fashion/cosmetic work. Just a few thoughts.
Cheers!
- Thanks will fix the Rockocco! I didn't know that, and I love that one. Thanks thanks.Ladylike

1. Get hosting at Mediatemple, Dreamhost, whatever. Make sure they do automated Wordpress installs (like the two above).
2. Do the automated Wordpress install. Check your web host's support documents.
3. Download and install an acceptable wordpress template. Here's a search: http://www.qbn.com/filter/all/pu…
4. Post your work.
Or find someone to set up Indexhibit for you, pay them $50.

your work looks good in the krop but get your own domain name as was said

THANKS noneck! This is exactly what I need. If anyone wants to set this up or teach me I'll happily pay $50. I would rather learn.
You all are the best.

Step 1: Go to mediatemple.net and sign up for the cheapest hosting service they currently offer (it's the (gs), $20/month) OR use a different host if friends have recommended one that you want to use. When sign up, they will automatically set up your domain if you purchase it from them which is step 2.
Step 2: Choose your domain. The closest thing to your name is the easiest approach, but you can use whatever you like that's available.
Step 3: Download a free FTP app if you don't have one. Cyberduck for mac or Filezilla for PC will do fine for now. Login using the info provided by your new webhost!
Step 4: Locate your web directory. I think on the (gs) you can just log in to FTP, open the folder that is named after your domain, then open the folder called either 'www' or 'html'. Download indexhibit and upload the files to this folder. Select the folder called 'files' and press command-i on a mac. Where there are three digits, type 777. Eo this to 'files/gimgs' and 'ndxk-studio/config' as well.
Step 5: Log in to the media temple control panel and click Manage Databases > Add a database. Call it anything. Now click Global Settings. Leave this window open.
Step 6: In a new window, open yourwebsite.com/ndxz-studio/inst... and follow the steps. Use the info from the other window (global settings)– if on media temple use the internal hostname. go back to your database list if you forgot the name of the database you created (mediatemple adds a prefix which is part of the name). When you finish the install, go back to your FTP app and delete the install.php file.
Step 7: Tada! Go to yourwebsite.com/ndxz-studio/ and login. Any questions you have regarding indexhibit are on their site or of course we can help.
Dinner break + some olympics now for me. Happy web-ing!
