cant you test it locally?
if you think that is bad try working with movable type and having to wait 10 minutes to republish a blog to see if an IE fix has taken effect.tea anyone?

i will do final testing in the browser as I know the back button is reliable, it is just how my flash code reacts to it... which doesn't need to be done in safari each time

Go to the flash player settings manager and set the permission to the local folder you are working

I did this and now swfaddress works locally even changing urls and page titles

You can run your index.html file locally and swfaddress should work as planned. About a year ago I started using FlexBuilder (now FlashBuilder) and it's such a dream to work in. The editor is so much more advanced it makes the Flash IDE feel like a toy.

- I've always wondered about that. Think I'm going to finally give it a shot now that you say that.fyoucher1
- FlashBuilder + PureMVC has been a godsend thus far. I think spending the time to learn both has been well worth the investment.mathinc
- investment. The only issue I have with FB is that it'll delete your imports if they aren't used, which is a nice feature but sometimesmathinc
- sometimes when you save and haven't yet applied references to that class it can be a pain. I'm sure I could turn it off though.mathinc

Well, if you were using Flex you'd have to preview in browser every build, so it wouldn't be a problem, and you'd have never posted this thread...

I want to do it within Flash though, thanks for the other answers though

What i do is create a fake 'back' button on my flash and assign the SWFAddress events to it.
Not sure how u'r doing it, but you can get external an internal SWFAddress events, so it's easier to control.
