Went to the Genius Bar, after waiting 20min after my scheduled time, we went over the problem and it is the panel, they call it screen bruising, e.g. when too much pressure is on the screen. strange, i almost always never pack the mbp in the bag, i'm always carrying it in my incase.
oh well. they're waiting for the part, and thank god it's still under applecare else i'd have to fork over 800.

This is just starting to happen with mine, but it's 5 years old, so I kind of expected things to start showing with age.

Do you believe it now you should have gotten a PC?

If the spots and lines showed up on a screenshot, then it's not the monitor. Well, unless you were physically taking a picture of the screen with a camera.

I don't think it's the motherboard, it's probably the panel since i took a screenshot of the region, didn't see it on another part of the screen.

Just in case:
http://www.mac-forums.com/forums…If that's your issue, the motherboard needs replacing. I had it done under AppleCare.

Having annoyances with the screen :/
First there were these dark spots (?) when the screen first comes on, around the centre of the screen, now there are these lines to the bottom left of that...
any ideas? i'll post a picture later.
