I guess Google would much rather have direct control over how video is implemented in Chrome rather than leaving it to Adobe's plugin. So they made that move as soon as it was feasible.

What apple does is take ideas that exist already and make them sexy and workable. That is a great thing. But it is not the same as inventing something. iPod is an excellent example. There were mp3 players for years before it came out, but most people think they were first.

Flash won't die any time soon, but 70% of the time it's only used for video and that part of it will die. Which is pretty fucking sweet

flash doesn't work with the interaction model of the iphone or ipad... even some apps like the html5 paint program doesn't work, as you can't draw, as when you try to it just drags the screen around...
quess they'll need to play around with resize and viewport etc

Whoa. That video is nice, especially the end showing the Ecodozoo site. That Nexus phone can handle Flash just fine. Thanks GeorgesII. Apple shouldn't have anymore excuses now.

So all the crap about Flash being the problem is total BS.

@Stugoo, i have the same opinion on this. they dont work the core anymore, they fucking lost it. it's blatant the appli runs like a big cow on amphets.

the death of flash has been talked about for years. just like any other tool / software package, flash will evolve as user needs / developer needs change. flash has more uses than just video players on sites, so an HTML5 video tag isn't going to kill a plugin thats installed on basically every computer in the world.
every computer except an ipad that is.

I don't know much about HTML5, but I like the idea of a competitor for Flash. I have never really liked Flash, although I of course have had to use it for animation and so on. I would much rather use AE to create SVG animations for HTML5 (I just made that up).
On the other hand, i feel the same way about Apple. I love it that Google is going to give them some competition.

No matter what, i realy enjoyed making things on flash. Websites, animations, presentations. I was utilizing it with After Effects a lot. Tehy killed flash they killed my joy.
