It's great. Very chill vibe. Beach is ok. Not as cheap as the rest of MX but well worth it. There are lots of villas for rent, some small if you're just a couple (Casa Caracolita was nice)

I know someone that moved there, sold his house, quit his job and retired at 40. Now he surfs all day and soaks up the sun. So jealous!

I would recommend checking out San Blas 45 mins north of Saulitya, way less touristy and wicked beach break to surf.

I've heard it's awesome.

its very fun. very cheap and very beautiful. i went in mid August and surfed for the first time. drank tons of tequila, took loads of pills and took morning swims. if you find my waterproof camera down there let me know!

is it easy to score mota there?
- yeah, just sit down on the beach and wait for the guys that come around and sell bracelets with your name on it. they will go get you what you want and come back and sell it to youredrum

i can't recommend this place enough if you're looking to spend a little more: http://www.playa-escondida.com/
amazing, secluded beach. great restaurant. private, open-air bungalows. super friendly, helpful staff.
it's a quick and beautiful 30 minute walk along the beach and through the jungle into town. you can also take a cab for less than $5.
