so you have a PhD
(or are getting it after its defense)congrats!!

Well.....it depends on why you got the degree.
Usually a dissertation is for a Doctorate....did you go for your PhD?
or was it a Thesis?
I'm working on my thesis for my M.F.A right now....but the purpose is to prepare for a career as an educator. Higher degrees in design are usually for education careers....not really to further enhance your creative career.
What are you planning on doing now?

the handjobs or dissertation? BAH DOM DOM TISH! :D
My course is Multimedia design. The dissertation can be about anything you like. I just think creative work would have been more beneficial.
Its good to be acedemic also obviously but...is a dissertation really a good use of time? i didnt think so.
I did however make my subject of use to me.
- But you've already spent 5 years pissing about on After Effects and Fireworks, time to actually read somethinggjd

Ive just handed in my dissertation. I feel good.
Despite that fact its not the most appropriate task to benefit and prepare me for the creative industry.
