wordpress it is. I guess by best I mean the best looking most tweakable and all that

Have you got your db set up locally? I think MAMP tends to use something like localhost:90 or :88 (Can't remember as I'm not a mac user#) but if you've got your DB set up it should be a simple user/pass input in those fields on the last step then it'll finish it up for you.
