I just saw Lauren Hill on the 6th at the Aragon ballroom..
i loved seeing her live and it was an *interesting* experience.the show had the tempo of a ska song. & you felt that she was speeding through the set as if it were an annoyance. none of the songs kept its original form and mostly i believe the crowd was wanting hip hop.. we got something that sounded like metal reggae fuse (which should have been great). This was like going to see a star wars film in the style of Victorianism; still cool to see but we're here to see some sci fi.
I'm not really complaining about show i had an excellent time. more reflecting on it.
as an opening, Mos Def bombed it without doubt.

Saw Cold Cave about a month ago. They are great performers, but the sound guy wasn't keeping up with the mids well, and they only played maybe 8 songs. Small, cheap and intimate venue, so it was worth it.
