megE, there are pretty good cheapish furniture places in Toronto which are nicely designed. I can let you know where to find them.

Straight swap for your chairs.
One's called Pedro and I think the other one is Phillipe, I can't be sure, I've only had them for six months. They're very reliable and can stay still for hours at a time.
I only ask that you feed them and let them out every now and again.

dinky, do you ever buy stuff from whiteonwhite? i know they are fakes, and a lot of people won't find it acceptable, but damn....i stepped into the store, and most of them they looked almost perfect.

Hmm never heard of them but I will take a look. If its a good fake its hard to tell. Even Vitra / Modernica / Herman Miller has their differences. Only can tell by putting them side by side.
I am moving away from retro modern actually. Will be getting rid of my Eames chairs also as soon as I decide on replacements.
