I love these comments about the first iPod in 2001:
Oct 23, 2001, 02:21 PM
"This isn't revoltionary!
I still can't believe this! All this hype for something so ridiculous! Who cares about an MP3 player? I want something new! I want them to think differently! Why oh why would they do this?! It's so wrong! It's so stupid!"Oct 23, 2001, 02:37 PM
"No F-ing Way. All that hype for an MP3 player? Break-thru digital device? The Reality Distiortion Field™ is starting to warp Steve's mind if he thinks for one second that this thing is gonna take off."Oct 23, 2001, 04:11 PM
I have no use for an Mp3 player.
My house has a CD player.
My car has a CD player.
My Mac has a CD player
I don't use headphones.
The iPod requires me to change my lifestyle to meet it's needs...Oct 23, 2001, 05:28 PM macrumors newbie
Lots of hype. Now I gripe.
400 bucks! Is Steve nuts?
Digital hub??? What a flub!

^runs android, supports multi touch, runs flash, has usb ports, has wifi and 3g included, costs $500 (including 3g, not including a data plan), supports multitasking, has a camera, has 80 gigs of storage not 16, and looks pretty much the same.
it was announced weeks before the apple maxi pad.

^ but dude, it's not Apple. You can't show the apple logo when you're at Starbucks, doing the things you were previously doing on your iphone.

im just saying that apple is seriously playing catch up in this department, there have been other, better tablets out for years.

Mark my words, I'm buying the MSI!

^supports multi touch, runs windows 7, contains ports, runs flash (it is a windows device), supports multitasking, is expected to run about 500 bucks and was released a few weeks ago at the CES, looks pretty much the same (and was in development for 5 years)
see a pattern here?
but of course 'apple changed the market'

_
thats just windows in a different shaped box xcarlx,
its pretty ignorant to ignore all the UI work Apple put in to the iPad, its the equivalent of you taking a Moto Razr and replacing the keypad and arrow keys with a touch screen version and saying its the same as the iPhone even though you didn't change the interface at all just the input method.- fanboyism is a desperate thingversion3

what i am looking at is the hardware its self though...all 3 devices are pretty much the same design wise, with the maxi pad coming in last in terms of capability and features.

Adobe Slams Apple for iPad's Lack of Flash
Adobe's Adrian Ludwig, the company's Flash Platform Product Marketing Group Manager, wrote in a blog post:
It looks like Apple is continuing to impose restrictions on their devices that limit both content publishers and consumers. Unlike many other ebook readers using the ePub file format, consumers will not be able to access ePub content with Apple's DRM technology on devices made by other manufacturers. And without Flash support, iPad users will not be able to access the full range of web content, including over 70% of games and 75% of video on the web.
If I want to use the iPad to connect to Disney, Hulu, Miniclip, Farmville, ESPN, Kongregate, or JibJab -- not to mention the millions of other sites on the web -- I'll be out of luck.
Adobe and more than 50 of our partners in the Open Screen Project are working to enable developers and content publishers to deliver to any device, so that consumers have open access to their favorite interactive media, content, and applications across platform, regardless of the device that people choose to use.

why do these all look exactly the same?
when you see this many tablets in the same place, it is hard to even tell which is which.

it looks like a flat monitor in a housing as thick as they had to, what do you expect when companies keep shaving the fat?
