So far not seeing anything addressing drawing or creative apps. I would think that'd be a huge sell point and 'want' of mac users. What's the point of the format if you cannot take advantage of interacting with the screen?

I do not like this arrangement. I commented on it at some point in this thread. This kind of app arrangement on a device this large is very clumsy to me. I see alot of accidentally opening apps by mistake because the device is so large; you have to carry it in your hand and your fingers could just randomly select apps. Iphone works differently since it's in your hand.

About the margin border...
if it's as thin as a magazine, the components to make it work have to go somewhere, wiring, batteries, cards, etc. Also, the added edge is likely to provide a holding surface for a variety of hand sizes and provide some support or protection in case of a fall. The heavier these things get the more stress forces that are applied to them when they fall and land on a corner
