I seem to get a lot of junk snail-mail that originates from Culver City, CA.

If you want the same suburban experience that occupies 95% of this country, live there. If you want something interesting go anywhere else.

I really like Culver City - especially that commercial/retail district with the restaurants. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of residential options there yet, but I think the area has a lot of potential.

It has gotten a lot better in the last couple of years. There's a great salad place (http://www.tendergreensfood.com... there.
I worked for awhile next door to Media Temple there, so if you are having things hosted with them... well, then it's convenient that you can literally just walk over there when shit's down and yell: "WHAT THE FUCK???".

I used to live here:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/victor-o…If you had to live in the west side, Culver City isn't a bad choice. Great restaurants and a good downtown area.

Its not a bad place to work... Lots of design type jobs in the area and art galleries and all that nonsense if that makes you feel special. Downtown area has some nice restaurants, but the kinds of people who go there are kind of a bummer and super lame now that the areas been totally gentrified...
And I'd skip Tendergreens (although tasty, for a salad its totally expensive) and go one restaurant down to Honey's Kettle and get some fried chicken and a lemonade.
On the plus side my friend used to live off of Venice in Palms and got his car stolen from his apartment parking spot, pretty rad, and also saw a dudes head get bashed in down the street by Gaby's (Restaurant), so thats cool...

there's your problem... getting that close to the water then deciding to live inside a highway? there's a sexual analogy to be made, but i haven't the time.

Thanks for the suggestions. There's some interesting work opportunities there, but had my reservations about holing up there.
