i just got back from 3 weeks in japan. tokyo > takayama > kanazawa > kagaonsen > kyoto > tokyo was amazing....got out in the mtns...did some skiing/hiking. as mentioned, it is expensive as shit, but absurdly beautiful and romantic place outside of the major metro areas (thought they are rad too). can give you crazy details if you want.

i would just like to second calles call to Argentina. it is an amazing place, and the exchange rate is phenomenal!

Japan is beyond incredible ..you really really HAVE!!! to go there.
Iceland I want to say was amazing, and although some parts of the trip were, I would not jump and and down to say go there, we travelled for ages to get to things that looked incredible in the guide book then got there and it was like noooo did we really just drive all that way for this! ..It was kinda amazing in parts but it was hella expensive for a decent meal and just kinda bizarre place.
full recommend Japan, I have travelled quite alot but nowhere oustanded me as much as Japan did. if you already went to tokyo then you have to see kyoto ..too too beautiful for words!

i just went to denmark a couple months ago, and stopped in iceland for free on my way over... flying with iceland air.
spend a week in iceland... rent a car and drive around the ring, then go to europe for how-ever long you have left ...
