I think they figured out that hard drawn, "hand set" fonts are a little bit quicker to produce than real ones.

Surprisingly I actually like most of them, though I don't see any way in hell any of them warrant a yearly top ten. I would definitely just end up drawing it myself...

For what its worth, I think YWFT is one of the better small independent type foundries out there. Not all type releases are to my personal taste, but you can't deny the craft and attention to detail that goes into each design.
