'i'm going back to the drawing board...'
you probably could have just posted that - the comments on the template looking like a theme is dead-on, nemo... it truly does look like something wordpressy...
--------------
"luckily, that's what broadcasting on QBN is all about: getting help and feedback. not the regrettable 4chan it's become since newstoday.com was lost..."are you saying that QBN is now like 4chan? You first say it's about help... then you say 'not the regrettable 4chan it's become since nt was lost'... completely flipping your statement
If you want to take from this community (free feedback from pros and bad-asses and rad-asses)... you best get your lil heart off your sleeve and put a smile on your face - try and remember it's the innernets, too. ;)
- i just remember a time when there was more design-discussion and less 4chan-ish posting, that's all...nemoDreamer
- my sentence made sense: "help & feedback is what QBN is about, not trolling and nude-pics"nemoDreamer
- but i like trolls and naked womenPonyBoy
- :D of course, but here?! they should stick to YouTube comments!nemoDreamer

Try this...before adding all the ornamentation/social features/JQuery, just organize your layout into a simple grid with a white, gray or black background. You probably think you already did that - but believe me, the attention to detail is not there yet. The spacing is too tight in places, too wide in others; overall it looks sloppy. Take a careful look at how other sites have organized their grid and learn from them.
Once you've gotten the basic type/grid down, you'll be 90% done. But without it, the site is not gonna look good no matter how much you add to it.

ukit: true. i moved to detail-work too soon because i was on a deadline... now that i've met it (to apply for a permanent job), i'll start the next version from scratch, with more control over placement than thematic's hooks allowed me, and a more sold grid layout!

Based on your strong-worded suggestions, i've removed the bottom clutter from 'single' pages, and scrapped the header rollover.
Everything else will just have to wait till I do a ground-up rebuild ;)
