HI
I am still learning some thing with css and am having trouble with a drop down menu displaying over a swf file. The flash movie displays OVER the drop down menu and I would like the drop down menu to be on top when it displays. Any advice?
Thanks in advance....

gotta be a way to do it... how do you get floating ads on top of flash video players etc?

don't have time to look it up - but i'm betting it's a window=transparent in your flash. may also have to adjust the z-index of your menu container.

I adjusted the z index in my menu container, however, I did not make the flash, I'll ask the person who did the flash video to adjust the window to transparent and see if that works..... :P
- that would be a property in the object/embed code in your html - not the flashbulletfactory

<param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> in the object section
and wmode="transparent" in the embed

I have this in my html as it would validate. should i not do this?
<object id="player1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="Video_01.swf" width="480" height="397"><noscript>
<p>No script/flash available</p>
</noscript> <param name="movie" value="Video_01.swf" />
<param name="FlashVars" value="configxml=config.xml" /></object>

you can fix it by changing your embed code a bit: add <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> and add wmode="transparent" into <emded

Thank you this works now.
Of course now my page does not validate.
but i'll live ;)

z index will make no difference ever. the way the browser uses the plugin means that it always floats on top of everything. as mentioned a few times above, making the wmode transparent works 100% though thank fuckery.
have you tried using swfObject as i think that validates no?
