Does anyone have an example of a publication design style guide they could share?
Need to give all my design specs from approved mocks to a client and team of designers, but I haven't created a comprehensive style guide for a publication before. Thought it might be nice to see an example before I plow ahead..
Thanks for any help..

It must be nice selling a service to clients that you haven't done before... Sorry I couldn't resist that.

What is the market? What is the purpose?
For instance, some style guides are web-only for those types of companies. In other cases, style guides can cover not just logo, typefaces and colors, but packaging, advertising and many other brand uses as well.
Are you going to be supervising the designers as they create assets based on this style guide? Or is this style guide to be handed out to multiple vendors around the world for them to act on virtually independent of oversight?
I know, many questions...but you must think of all of this info in order to do your client and their brand a service.

It's a daily newspaper/ weekly supplement magazine. So that's the problem — it's not a simple brand style guide. It's not a HUGE problem, I just thought if someone happened to have done something similar. it'd be useful.. that's all.

I would imagine that most magazines would not make these guides public (somebody was paid a lot of $ to develop them). I don’t know if you’re designing a magazine, if so, go down to your local bookstore and purchase an armful of magazines and study the layouts, grids, etc. I am not suggesting plagarism, or copying, but studying and learning. There are also a number of good books out there on grids, and grid systems, but none that I know of that deal exclusively with magazines.

I've designed and (partially) written 4 style guides, but none for a publication yet. That might change in late winter/spring, though.
