@joseprieto
The printer was about $7,000. I think it's made me at least $20,000 since I bought it, plus I get to make my own prints anytime now.

@o_O
I did about $10,000 worth of canvas prints for a chain of restaurants a little more than a year ago that paid for the entire printer.

hey sum, when you printed the wurk for the restaurants, did you have to mount the work your self or did you give it to a framer to handle that or did the restaurants do it themselves? im just wondering about that the last few days...

They were various sized "gallery wrap canvases". I printed the canvases and a framing resource coats the canvases, then stretches the canvases, finishing each with a dust cover on the backside and a hanging wire. I then delivered the canvases (to each of three locations), and the restaurant's interior designer (who found and hired me) and her "picture hanger" (guy) would get them placed where she wanted them and attached to the walls.Each piece that I made was super large, the largest measuring about 5'x7'. Because I only have the 44" printer I had to farm this piece out to a printer with a 60". :-)
I'm going to post a few pics of the install shortly.

right, keep saying you will post the pictures shortly. Yea, sure.
- I will, I promise. I just can't right at the moment because I have two Christmas parties to attend.********

somehow i knew it would remind me of a panera. *jealous. having high end chain like establishments as clients will keep you BUSY
- They really liked what I did, but no new business since. I was hired by their agency though so no direct contact.********
- What was nice though, is that they paid top dollar for the art pieces. :-) A rarity these days.********

in terms of the subject matter, did you photograph it yourself? or did the restaurant provide the image matter for you? nice work on the prints. thanks for the posts.
- Stock photography provided by the restaurant's designer.********
- I used genuine fractals to enlarge/upres each image.********
