Is there anyway to get free domain name?

Geocities offers free space and name ;)

they cost less than €10 per year. Are you really that cheap?
But if you are, some hosting providers give you a free domain registration if you purchase hosting. Try that route. And you can reuse teabags too, just dry them out first.

No such thing as a free domain. They cost money to register (and reregister).
Companies offering domain names as part of a package are just including the cost in the package. The point being that they may (or may not) allow you to transfer the domain elsewhere should you decide to move hosting. As they register the domain for you, they may decide the domain is theirs and you merely have use of it.
In short, if it matters, get your own.

I used to use pt.vu for a long time, still redirects to my actual domain name. there are plenty of services like these but they're not actually domain names for free, they just seem to be.
For instance I couldn't have a direct link for something with the free URL, it's just a sort of mask.

Only reason I could think to ask this question is if I was wanting an 'unregistered', or mostly anonymous, domain.
What you got planned, fayz? Jihadi training video portal?

Get it with godaddy, but google godaddy coupons first. A .com domain will cost you $7.67 which is about €5.19 or £4.79 but I'm not sure you're still reading this thread...

aaargh... I've had clients who got their domain names from their ISP's for "free" but sometimes that meant that if they had to change hosts, the ISP would be more difficult to talk into giving up the DNS....
