unlocking objects in indesign

I have an object. There is no option for unlocking (object> unlock position) Nor can I find anywhere to pull up a layers window.
So I don't know what to do. I am sorry I can't find anything on google.. I'm just under stress and I was looking for a helping hand from my fellow designers.

If you really want you can send me the file and I can try and figure it out for you. No guarantees.

thanks man, but I would get in trouble if I sent this shit out anywhere...

I am no indesign wizard but my guess it's one of three things.
(1) A locked Object like ESKEMA is pointing out above. See above.
(2) An anchored object inside of a graphic frame that was inserted into a text box. In that case simply select your text box where the graphic is, goto Object --> Anchored Object --> Release
(3) Or it's a locked master page item. Again...
Get to your pages palette. Select the master page that contains the item and double-click into it. You should now be viewing the master page with the item. You can edit the item any way you choose from this point.
If you don't want to edit your master page then you can choose to 'override master page items' in the pages palette by option/right + clicking onto the page you want to override.
If that doesn't help then I have no idea, outside of having someone with a superior knowledge of indesign view the file, what will help.

Claymantis; we've been asking for a screen shot. you obviously have no comprehensive knowledge on how to use InD and therefor can't accurately diagnose the situation. you want help, then you have to help us by providing a screen capture.
if you can't provide it due to a confidentiality agreement then you have no business working with the project.
imagin how the client will feel after you tell them "you can't because the element is locked and you don't know how to unlock it." now think of your employer ...
