part of me... deep down inside... is very happy to see this happen - DJ's are talentless hacks... congrats - you play other people's music.
(yes... I know there are plenty of folks who produce too... but... c'mon... that "I'm a DJ" shit is tired)
- I'm a DJ...Super_Black
- are you tired yet?PonyBoy
- I'm a Super Star DJ.clearThoughts
- you must be super tired!.. damn near 'omg tired' I bet. :)PonyBoy
- Guitarists are talentless hacks who play other people's music too;)ukit

For real? I'm really surprised if that is true considering the huge number of super specialized kinds of hardware DJ/ audio companies keep producing.

It was probably about time.
But beat-matching vinyls on a pair of 1200's is a totally unique experience.

JUst a rumor so far....I wouldn't be surprised if Panasonic planted this themselves to push a few thousand more TTs for the holidays;)
- clearThoughts0
Who would realistically want to buy a pair though?
They became totally redundant. And if you do want a pair, you can get them for cheap on Ebay.

Look at all the weird shit Numark sells and ask yourself why Panasonic couldn't support producing this one turntable. It doesn't really make sense.

personally, i am a pro dj since 1997 and playing with turntables requires much more skills than with all laptop controlled gadgets and machines. i use laptop now for easier handling and traveling but i really do miss the technics beauties!
- clearThoughts0
All those Numark turntables probably cost 1/10 of a Technique one.
They probably sell better, as only a pros use Techniques. No pro is using Vinyl anymore though, because it is just too much hassle.

all this means im going to clean mines and put them on a very special place in my home!

So sad to read this thread, I was just discussing my 1200's last night with a friend and how they are classic and all that. I bought mine back in 1987
- Nice... got my first set in '90...Super_Black
- ... then got 1210's, and then back to 1200's again...Super_Black

Here's an idea...maybe it's true, maybe not but...wait for the official word from the company, instead of believing it on the basis of some random blog post.
I don't see why they would do it unless they are really feeling the pinch financially.

there are several models, mk2 - 5, i imagine they are discontinuing a specific model and not the whole line. why would they? r&d has paid for itself a thousand times over, it's easy profit for them
- acescence0
but if it is true, i've got some 1210s for sale, make me an offer ;)
