My friend had just began writing dance music, if people get a minute mind giving it a listen and giving him some comments?

Thanks QBN :-)

vocals are too low in the mix

'writing' dance music?
That must be a studious process, steeped in tradition and labrynthine melodic structure.

I think the structure needs more work.. at the moment it sounds too linear and too simplistic.
It seems like one new idea (sound) is being introduced individually and regularly. It's very easy to guess when a the music is going to change tack .. could perhaps try to surprise the listener / play with expectations. There's no real build up or energy.. seems quite flat. Ends in pretty much same way it began.
The main baseline is a bit too dull to be repeated from start to end - wouldn't be so difficult to break this up a bit and give it a bit more funk. I definitely think it needs something to break up the monotony.
Other than that - great stuff.
- Thanks for the constructive criticisms. I've given my friend this url but I'll pass all comments on also.EdTheDuck101

This isn't my thing, but he did a good job. My brother writes/mixes/DJs all sorts of stuff. I just play drums and guitar.

needs some compression to make the music sound more alive and less robotic, it'll tighten it all up and give it a pulse

It definitely sounds far too lifeless. It's just not the type of electronic music that I dig, there is no dynamic to it, it just sounds like he slapped it together in fruity loops without editing any sample velocity, all high hats have the same cut off, and volume makes it sound way too keyboard-demo. Sounds way too sequenced.
