Their are some HD content on the streaming. I would like them to update it with more current movies though.
I think the disc is a temporary solution for now since a month or 2 ago, XBox was boasting that they are EXCLUSIVELY the only one with Netflix streaming. I think they are trying to this same thing to the wii

I prefer the Xbox streaming as it integrates well with the dashboard. The PS3 method seems so alien to me. Kind of fucks me off there's no search functionality on either as most of the stuff I want to watch I have to find and add on the website. Apparently the next/later PS3 firmware update will add the streaming without the need for a disc.

I'm pretty sure you don't need an install disc every time you stream Netflix using an Xbox360, so why with the PS3?
- Microsoft bought exclusive rights to build it into the 360s firmware. Ps3 has to use a disc for this reason.CygnusZero4

I'm not sure the answers to your questions but this shit works wicked. $9 a month and I get one dvd out at a time and unlimited streaming. There are a ton of movies and I am sure they will continue to release more for the streaming service. I could write a testimonial for the service.

not sure if their are technical reasons, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft and Netflix made a deal. They allow XBox to stream, and they use Silverlight for their web player.

Right now I have a Blockbuster subscription which I thought was pretty nice before this came out. Block lets you return them in-store for a free rental, even blue rays. But no streaming content. I'm going to keep them both for a few months since it's only 9 bucks each.
