Look up Font Explorer X beta version.. they stopped it at the beta but works fine, and is free.
Doesn't work in Windows 7 though :(- does NOT work fine!! crashes firefox every time and disables all sorts of functionsProjectile
- never caused a problem for me.. worked like a dream in XPNightshade

excellent, I didn't think there was a version for Win anywhere.

good luck. it can do some wonky things upon installation with your active fonts. but once you get it up and running, this version is quite good.

yeah I used to use it on mac at my last work. This one seems not to properly group fonts into families which is quite strange, but still better than the XP font folder

Projectile wins the special prize - this beta has completely borked my system and crashes FF completely any time its open.
Anyone have any idea how to restore things to normal? I'd rather have no font management than not be able to use my PC because this thing has misplaced all the system fonts or whatever the hell has happened

I've seen this happen about three times now with that version. A buddy of mine had this happen to him. Right click on desktop > Bottom option (if you can't read anything, it's Properties) > 4th Tab (Appearance) > Right Button (bottom of two, not bottom row, Advanced). Once there, are you able to click on say, ??????'s or Rectangles that are replacing the font? If so, hopefully you'll be able to choose a font from below.
- Usually during that time, somehow things magically reset....jaylarson

You can download the demo of Suitcase Fusion 2 and use it for the 30 day trial period.

Perhaps that will give you enough time for it to be within reach again.
