... you talking to me? Wow, Singapore. I checked out your agency, Equus right? So what are the logistics of working there? Are you hiring for a standard full time permanent position? Is it easy for a foreigner to work there? How do you like Singapore? I have been there several times on my way to Indonesia and the Maldives and was impressed but only saw a very small part of the city. What's your hiring process going to be like? Are you bringing people there to review?

I want to get the hell out of America.

@dusign. Hiring for a full time position, open ended contract. Company will sort out employment papers (4 non singaporeans are working here now, it's pretty easy here). Singapore design scene is on the rise, quite happening, and it's a regional hub where all the major brand agencies reside. We work for quite a few non singaporean clients (vietnam, indonesia, malaysia etc). Hiring process will be based on folio and some phone calls where $$ will be discussed. The folio on the site now is pretty outdated, there's a lot of new work that can't be shown quite yet but expect a major update soon. Workload is about 60-70% branding projects.
@dyspi. Yup, still got your links. Will shoot you an email.

thank you for your answers...the plot thickens...if you don't mind a few more questions...What is your ideal candidate for the position? What type of growth do your foresee in the near future for the company? How would you describe your office culture and environment. Is your space open and shared or do individuals have offices, cubicles etc? What type of hours are you regularly working, an all-nighter type deal or somewhat balanced? Speaking of hours do you follow a traditional 9-5 model or? What types of recreational activities are there in the area? What are the positives of living in singapore? the negatives? What's the best place to eat within walking distance?
- __TM0
Ideal candidate? Is judged by quality of portfolio and relevant experience.
Type of growth? Going to integrated branding agency (used to be more print based), team is good now, we just need to replace a senior that is leaving. Looking at maybe max 20 peeps in the future.
office culture and environment. One large open space, shared by designers, project managers and management, no separate offices
What type of hours are you regularly working. very balanced, usually 9.30-6.30, overtime only when really necessary (this is quite unusual in s'pore). We'd like people to actually be there during office hours since there's a lot of client calls and meetings/briefings
What types of recreational activities are there in the area? not sure what you're into. For me, there's lots of bars and clubs in the area :)
Positives of living in singapore? extrememly low taxes, convenience, safety. the negatives? if you're used to europe/US, it can be a bit boring at times. And the beer is rather expensive...
Best place to eat within walking distance? google "food in singapore", the best food in asia can be found here for very reasonable prices. there's a cantine here but we usually walk out (5-10min) to the local food stalls or sandwich bars.
