Waimea BeachI always enjoy just driving around the parameter of the island and making a bunch of pit stops. You'll probably want to stop at sights like Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay. Waikiki is way tourist.

Funny I was there exactly a year ago.
Halloween in Honolulu was fun.The bar upstairs and downstairs on 39 Hotel was really cool.
Indigo was a great restaurant.
I went to the Contemporary Museum. Not a must see but was nice to kill some time while my wife was at a conference.
Hanuma Bay seemed super touristy but was really cool. On the way there we stopped at this great T-shirt/Vinyl toy store called Split Obsession. http://www.splitobsession.com/ the owners were very friendly and cool.Drove around the entire island, was cool but not as cool as maui or Kauai.
- i'll have to check out that Split Obsession place.Douglas

ate at the House without a Key and watched the sunset while listening to live traditional music sung by 2 former Miss Hawaii's.

I wish we would have gone to Helena's. I hear the food is excellent and that's my nieces name and wanted to get her a shirt.

Germaines Luau was fun. Kind of commercial, but they put on a good show. Also at the Sheraton Moana on Waikiki beach, there is an outdoor bar right by the sand. We had some killer Mai Tai's while watching the sun set there.

I can't remember what they are called specifically off the top of my head, but if you are into hiking there are some great trails. I can ask some friends from the island if you're interested.
Just remembered, one is called 'stairway to heaven' - when driving by, it looks like you are climbing up a shear face of a mountain, crazy views at the top.

I agree with douglas on the shrimp trucks they are bomb, however matsumotos shaved ice is a stupid 1-2hr wait and the surf shop across the street has some that are cheaper and just as good.
I always enjoy kayaking near waimanalo and bringing lunch to the bird sanctuary island.

i went there as a kid, still one of the most memorable experiences of my life... waimea bay is gorgeous and is a great place to swim with the fishes (not in the mafia kind of way)

North Shore all the way, well apart from that hideous Turtle Bay resort... Surf season should be starting so check out Waimea and PIpe and all the spots.

Waimea bay - sunset swim.
Rainbow Drive-Inn. Spam and eggs plate.
North shore in general is amazing. Try to go at least 2 of those days. Tons of dope beaches. Great food trucks (shrimp, fish, shave ice). We always seem to get into some shit with the local kids though.
Diamondhead is cool. It's a light hike with some cool views. Gets a little crowded up there though.
Byodo-in temple.
