Need to apply a warped lens flare to something but it needs to be done for print. I can't do a lens flare render in CMYK mode. Every time I do the flare effect in RGB and paste it into the CMYK image is comes in as a faded white box. Adjust the levels but the effect looks shit.
Any PS print wizards out there today?

do your lensflare on your rgb work psd file, once you have finished, flat everything, convert to cmyk profile.

yeah done that but the colour vales end up being nothing like the original CMYK version 'scratches head'

or you can make a lens flare ona different rgb doc : make a black layer, then the lens flare on it.
Put that layer on your cmyk file in superposition ("lighter" on the us version?) blending mode.
but IMO, the best option is to keep your original file in rgb, and convert it in CMYK profile once everythingis ok.

can you show a preview here?

Do your lens flare on a pure black file thats the exact same size as your artwork. Then copy and paste it as a layer over your artwork. Set it to screen, then dupe up a second one over the top of it and set it to overlay at about 30%, but directly affecting the layer below only.
Mess about with the settings until it looks right.
Or, alternatively, just don't ever use lens flare.

To make a layer screen out of a CMYK file you have to have a full on 100% C 100%M 100%Y and 100%K, otherwise it will fog out one of the plates or more.

There is a lens flare type thing in Illustrator

Is there? I have manually made lens flares in illustrator before - fun stuff.
