its not the kids fault they have it easy, old people should have hammered down on us like your parents did. where'd you fuck up?!?! my childhood was too easy, hahaha. seriously what happened? how's it our fault that we have it easy.

would you prefer they didn't have it easy? maybe had to walk for 5 hours through a minefield to get water everyday?
of course they have it easier, that was the aim, to better society. our parents had it marginally better than our grandparents (ie: no ww1 / ww2 although the post war depression and then the korean and vietnam wars certainly added a wrinkle to the joy of living for them). and we had it massively better than our parents. and hopefully the trend will keep that way. the thing is to work out how to instil real values and morals when people have so much more spare time to think about 'me' in a relative vacuum. it was hard for our grandparents to think about themselves too much while down a coal mine for 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.
tis a generational laziness to say this like it's remotely profound or new.
i'm probably wrong.

I'm not saying easy as in they have an easy life...I'm saying that kids can't get disciplined like they did when I was growing up because everything is considered child abuse now. If you read the first post, parents were arrested for washing their child's mouth out with soap. There was punishment a lot worse than that back in the day...That's what I mean by easy.

yeah, the corporal punishment thing is an issue to be sure. but just maybe there's a better way and we won't truly find it until the old-school thinking is buried for good?

seriously, though. look at how our grandparents grew up. sure, they were beaten and crap for being bad, but look how they turned out.
TOTAL FUCKING NERDS that never got to do anything but go to war and maybe have a milkshake every once in a while
